In the rolling hills of Shenandoah County, above the quaint town of Woodstock, lived a delightful pig named Daisy. With her bright eyes, curly tail, and an innate charm that warmed the hearts of everyone she met, Daisy had a special role in the community—she is the beloved mascot of Response, Inc.

 

Response, Inc. was founded several decades ago by a group of compassionate individuals who recognized the pressing need for support systems for those affected by domestic violence. Driven by a vision of hope and healing, the organization dedicated itself to providing resources, advocacy, and education for survivors, helping them reclaim their lives and restore their sense of safety.

 

From the very beginning, Daisy became an integral part of this mission. While Response, Inc. offered crucial services—such as crisis intervention, support groups, and emergency shelter—it was Daisy who brought a sense of warmth and joy to the often somber and challenging conversations surrounding these topics. Her presence at events, workshops, and outreach programs reminded families in need that there was still joy to be found amidst the struggles they faced.

However, one fateful stormy night, a massive oak tree, which had gracefully stood watch over the playground for generations, fell during a fierce storm, crushing swings and slides beneath its weight. Understanding the profound impact the playground had on the lives of so many, Daisy knew she couldn’t let this cherished haven be forgotten. She began to rally the community, sharing her heart and passion for restoring the playground alongside Response, Inc. The journey was about more than physical restoration; it was a mission to revive the spirit of resilience that defined Response.

 

With her charming presence, Daisy organized a County wide Tour. To raise awareness and funds for the playground. Every swing, slide, and joyful shout is a tribute to not just the playground, but to the heartwarming history of Daisy, Response and Shenandoah County residents—an inspiring tale of how together, they can create a world where everyone feels safe, loved, and cherished.
